ABOUT THE COURSE:
At any time... you can skip directly to THE COURSE site where you can actually begin to puppy-train your own mind.

PAY ATTENTION:
YOU must consider yourself to be the "pack leader" to your "puppy," which is your untrained EGO...the part of your mind that regards itself as alone in the world and in need of protection... so it's naturally very suspicious and quick to anger... WHY? Because it interprets literally everything as a threat to its existence. 

So, just as some puppies resist training, your ego may prove to be a very challenging "puppy," so be prepared!!! 

The BEST DOG TRAINERS in the world will tell you that there is NO KNOWLEDGE IN INSTINCT...
and dogs instinctively follow the PACK LEADER!

As a new "puppy" owner (and therefore morally responsible for its proper training), you must never allow your puppy to lead YOU out the door... (or lead you on your daily walk). If you do, then you will be unwittingly reinforcing the idea that IT is the pack leader, and not you.

So in order to maintain the proper relationship in response to a DOG'S NATURAL INSTINCT, you MUST SHOW YOUR PUPPY THE WAY CONSTANTLY by keeping it AT YOUR SIDE,
reinforcing that YOU ARE IN CHARGE as pack leader. 

BE PREPARED that your "puppy" ego will likely complain about the lessons you are teaching it! TEACH YOUR PUPPY TO "COME-SIT-STAY"... and WALK BY YOUR SIDE as you faithfully do your lessons each day. In this way, you train your own mind STEP-BY-STEP, DAY-BY-DAY, that YOU are in charge, teaching your puppy-ego good behavior.

Simply by DEMONSTRATING the kind of behavior that your puppy
literally DEMANDS of you instinctively.

Shelby's Story

Shelby was adopted while I lived in beautiful Marin County, California in the late '90s. She is a Border Collie/Chow mix (seen here at about eight weeks old, romping in the hills above the fog of San Francisco Bay in the background).

 

     Shelby taught me very quickly the oddly humorous way that an untrained puppy can give direct clues to the way an untrained human mind works. She was a blissed-out puppy, filled with fun and mischief. She was very frisky and nosy about everything, quick to lick a friendly face but also just as quick to yap-yap-yap at unknown noises or humans moving around inside "her territory" -- until, of course, she discovered they were no real threat and were, therefore, included in her world with loving affection.    
    

     After about a year of careful training, Shelby began to show signs of becoming less and less automatically fearful of the world around her. Shelby was socialized around lots of other dogs (and people), making her a very popular dog as she always interacted in a friendly manner with other dogs and humans. Although "treats" were used liberally in the beginning, in time Shelby's behavior became motivated and reinforced by her master's affection and guidance as the "pack leader" -- even learning to watch for and actively respond to hand commands as well as voice commands.

 

     Shelby would regularly surprise other dog-walkers... people who easily remembered Shelby's name but not mine. They wanted to know what breed she was, thinking her good manners were somehow due to superior genetics. The fact is, Shelby's behavior had very little to do with genetics but rather in the way was trained properly, always applying loving kindness and persistently positive attitudes and "good energy."     SPECIAL NOTE:  You may already be aware that, like knowledgeable dog trainers everywhere, dogs will "pick up" human energy and reflect it in their behavior -- particularly that of their master (as pack leader). Logically, therefore, if a dog's master has an aggressive attitude or other negative emotions, the dog will likely behave in the same way.    

 

     Shelby, to no one's surprise, is now a happy, beloved, well-behaved pooch who is always welcomed wherever she goes... petted and loved by all who meet her. She lives in Austin, Texas, with Kamala Joy (Shelby's "mom" and my lovely ex), who leads workshops to enhance deeper spiritual awareness through an energy transmission experience known as "Deeksha."
